Volumio GUI Availability Issue on The New RPi 3 B+

I have had the new RPi 3B+ board for a week as a replacement of the old RPi 3B (that served me well over two years). I noticed stability issues with the 3B+. Precisely, Volumio GUI suddenly cannot be reached via web browsers on my laptop nor my phone during music replay and when it is idle. I had to use SSH to reboot and the problem goes away for a few days. I remember that I had similar issue with Volumio ver. 1, never since I upgraded to Volumio 2. Below is my setup:

RPi 3B+ w/ Volumio v. 2.389
Terra-Berry DAC2 (w/ DAC powered independently as suggested here --> https://volumio.org/forum/terra-berry-dac2-review-t7871.html)
PSU for the DAC: iFi iPower 5V 2A
PSU for the Pi: 5V 4A
Cooling fan for heat dissipation

My question are:

  1. Has anyone experienced similar issues with RPi 3B+?
  2. Is there anyway that I can restart web GUI using SSH, i.e., without rebooting?

Thanks,

John

I haven’t seen any other reports of a similar issue, and you can restart Volumio with “killall node” from ssh.

I was able to use “killall node” to restart Volumio from SSH. Below is the log as I had to use killall node to regain the GUI. Volumio GUI was unreachable earlier today during idle. It’s the second time that I need to restart Volumio today already.
