Spotify and Youtube not working ...

So … latest version on a Pi with a iqaudio DAC.

Webradio works a treat, no issues.

Youtube, did the register thing … typed the code into google.com/devices (hint: instead of just displaying the URL on the screen, why not just make a clickable link?) Registered the device ID, google says it’s happy.

When I try to search for a Youtube track, I get a pair of small blue popups on right hand side of screen. One says "register you device in order "etc, the other says “searcing Youtube, may take a while” … then after a while, “Error: no results” … never gets any results.

Spotify: I have a premium account … the plugin does correctly search spotify, and when I click a track it says "now playing … " in a popup, loads the cover image, knows the track length, knows its 320kbits or whatever … but it never plays, the timer stays on 0:00 forever. Skipping it forward, pressing play etc has no effect.

Sigh … any ideas?

Spotify search and play tracks is working fine here. Can you reboot your device, try to play a track (and presumably fail), and the send a system log please?

Done.

logs.volumio.org/volumio/AODRCjf.html

It appears to be unable to connect to: ap.spotify.com:80

Checked from a browser, also unabel to connect. It’s been like this for weeks, so I don’t think it’s a temproary outage.

@chisms … any news?

OK, no response, I am going to assume its broken and not likely to be fixed anytime soon.

I have exactly the same issue. Youtube plug-in used to be perfect.

In addition to that, as I tried to connect to spotify, it kept disconnecting itself. rebooted and tried it many times, sometimes worked sometimes didn’t. This all happened after the latest update.

I found it disconnected at specific track I played. Those songs just can’t be played.

Running at resp pi B+, Applepi DAC.

I can’t also access spotify using latest version of volumio installed in Pi3 + Allo Boss DAC. This message appears within the log when I click on the save button of the spotify plugin

I created a ticket : github.com/volumio/volumio-plugins/issues/286

I have investigated the log of the spotify daemon and it reports that we can’t use anymore spotify without a premium account

Is there a workaround ?

My problem fixed.

I re-installed the spotify plug-in(whatever you have installed) and it works.
You may need to re-log in the premium Spotify account.

Did the same to my youtube plug-in, too. It was recovered and work well now.

I bet the new update confilicted to the plug-in.

Is it possible to also add a remark/comment under the official Volumio Spotify plugin to specify that it only works with a Spotify Premium Account ?

I’ve added the note to the forum list of Volumio plugins here.

I actually have a Spotify Premium account, so it’s not that.

It also doesnt explain the failure to work with YouTube …

I used your last index.js and now my PlayLists works but Stotify FeaturedPlayLists.
