I have these devices :
Raspberry Pi B 512 MB
Audiophonics PCM5102 ( audiophonics.fr/en/kits-modu … -8884.html )
Volumio version : tested 1.55 and 1.51
When I setup Volumio to use Hifiberry i2s driver (as told on the audiophonics webpage), volume wheel is stuck to 100%.
Is the driver bad for these devices ? How can I fix this problem ?

Audiophonics told me that in “bitperfect” mod, sound is always stuck to 100% with this DAC.
That is correct. And applies for most DACs. You can set volume control to software, but Volumio will do re-sampling and than it can perform volume control.
Usually a DAC is used to feed an amplifier and volume control is done with the amp in the analog domain, which gives a better audio experience than volume control in the digital domain by adjusting the bits before conversion.
