Hi all!
I’m a software developer from Taiwan, write a lot of JavaScript. I love tinkering with software on my raspberry pi during my free time. Last year I dived into home automation, mainly home-assistant. then I started to look for a standalone music player on raspberry pi, which leads me to Volumio.
With an old, unused passive speaker & a rpi3 on hand, I bought a HifiBerry AMP+ and build up a Volumio music player overnight. This awesome stuff opens a new world to me…
- I copied all my CDs to ALAC m4a file & transfer to Airport TimeCapsule (my NAS), and sell these old CDs.
- I wrote a plugin for StreetVoice, which is my favorite Taiwan indie music streaming service. since it serves music via HLS, I use VLC as the player. source code can be downloaded here: https://github.com/cades/volumio-plugins/tree/streetvoice/plugins/music_service/streetvoice
glad to join Volumio community, and I’d love to hear your feedback to this plugin
