my first volumio prototype...

Forgive my English, I know it’s not good, I hope you understand me.
At first, the idea is this, I have to improve the box, but I wanted to have it all together and only need external speakers.

the components used:
Raspberry i 3
Suptronics X5000
Display oficial touch 7’’
Case PVC
Now I would like to add a remote control, but I do not know if it should be connected to the raspberry or the x5000, can you help me?

Thanks

I have x5000 soundcard. With volumio not control volume on software. but i only control volume with hardware dimmer.

Please. Can i using softvol control with my x5000 card?

Hi, I do not know if you mean this.

How to get the best sound and Volume Control
Volumio can detect if your DAC supports Hardware mixer, and enable it automatically. If your DAC does not support it, Volumio will allow you to enable software mixer. To change this behaviour you can go to Playback Options -> Volume Settings:

Select the Mixer Type:

None = No volume control
Software = Volume control but loss of Audio Quality
Hardware = Best of both worlds, provides ability to change volume without loss of quality

o. great. now work. thank you

Hi Dasogoster,

I got also the X5000! Which driver/DAC Model have you used to control “volume” through “software”? …Generic I2S ?
It 'd be a pity to have to control the output volume “by hand” only through the potenciometer. Thank you in advance!

Hi, I’ll give you a few captures, I hope you solve the problem, if not, as far as possible I’ll help you, regards …

Thanks, Dasogoster!
Yes, that’s how I had it… my problem came when trying to skip from a radio-station to Spotify: then, it gets a bit crazy. Spotify doesn’t sound (no sound at all) when using “Software volume control”. However, it works fine with any radio-station (they sound and I can control the volume through soft)… Weird…

…Last news: now it works fine (software volume control, version: 389) with both: Internet radio stations & Spotify (Premium account). :open_mouth:
Fantastic. The X5000 sounds really wonderful! Thanks!

Any latest updates and pictures OP on the progress?

i put raspberry and x5000 in a old ps1. the eject button if press start and stop music, if rotate up or down volume. its great

Hola, versión final, trabajando en posibles mejoras para la caja…

Nice build!

Question About the x5000.
How does the powerbutton works?
Does it juist cuts the power to do th pi or trigger a script to do a Shutdown?
Is the pi really without power afterwards?

Thnx

Harry

Cut the power at sound card and a raspberry

For Buckler…

The ignition button is connected to the x5000, just like any other ignition button, you press it and the current reaches the x5000 and the Raspberry, then you press again and the two run out of power.

If you turn it off from the button, everything runs out of power, both the x5000 and the Raspberry, if you just turn off the volume from the software, it will still remain current in both the x5000 and the Raspberry, then you need to cut all the current through the button.

I hope to see you resolved your doubts, greetings…

For burghy…

I think you ask something similar that Buckler, the x5000 and the Raspberry are linked through the ports hdmi, at both current comes through the x5000, once you press the off button the two cards are without power, not that you use the software shutdown of Volumio.
