DAC not working in Volumio

I have a B&W Zeppelin speaker which also has a USB DAC. So I hooked it up. Volumio 2 does find the speaker and it’s selectable. But it can’t be used. There is no start up sound. When trying to play a song it gives a ALSA Broken Pipe error in the UI. I can’t find it in the logs so unfortunately I can’t paste it here. I do have a log from the dev section though:

I am not sure what this means and what I can try to fix it. Does anyone have an idea?

Your best bet I think is to do some command line testing with Alsa commands like aplay and try to play something simple as a wav file first.

Once you get it working on that level, than maybe the Volumio UI can work with it as well.

I would start with looking at different sample rates to figure out if the DAC is able to sync on the USB signal it gets from the Pi.

It remains to be seen if your Zeppelin works with Linux…

Please connect it before turning on Volumio, then go to playback options and click the output device menu, do you see USB listed there?

Yes, I can even see the name of the Zeppelin and select it.
