Amazon Dash Button and Volumio.

Hello,

I’m using Volumio for years, and my setup only lacks a simple remote. Preferably wifi and low cost.

I plan to use Amazon Dash Buttons…

I red about hacking Amazon dash buttons :
https://www.raspberrypi.org/magpi/hack-amazon-dash-button-raspberry-pi/

another way in french
https://ludovicscribe.fr/blog/hack-dash-button-amazon

Mixing with these scripts : https://volumio.org/forum/few-useful-node-scripts-t6247.html

I should achieve to have a solution that works, start/pause my beloved volumio setup !!

To be continued…

Hi yakelkun,

Unfortunately the current version of the dash button isn’t as easy to hack.

I had the same idea but when getting deeper to it i realized this Sorry for not having the links any longer. But please study a bit more before bying them
Maybe you find an easy solution - but as far as i know you have to frickle around with smd soldering to hack the new one.

I hope the IR solution of Michelango and IQaudio will work some day out of the box (which it appearently does only with the IQaudio hardware) - or i will learn the flirc thing…

Hi yakelkun,

Unfortunately i didn’t save the link because i’m no master in SMD soldering and after messing up a brandnew PI Zero W :frowning: by trying to solder an UFL antenna connector recently i decided to not going on to frickle with the new dash button.

I tried to find the page again - but no luck.

I remember you have to remove a SMD chip to program it - but maybe there are better ways to hack it.
