I saw that there is a new version of Volumio for the PI, so I checked if there also is a new version for the Tinkerboard (TB).
There is, so I downloaded to a fresh SD card and ran initial config.
It was working OK, until I disabled Wifi.
When I disabled Wifi, the eth0 address also disappeared.
It doesn’t come back after rebooting.
Manually assigning an address in /etc/network/interfaces works (of course.)
For now I have gone back to the previous version.
It is probably not relevant, but the TB is connected to an Amareno USB dac.
And, it is a clean install.
What I saw is that ifconfig still reports eth0 (it is alsi in network/interfaces), it just doesn’t get an IP assigned.
I think wlan0 also was present in network/interfaces, not sure if that is OK.
From tomorrow, I’m away from home until next weekend, so I can’t test anything.
